Meun Options - a quick guide

TGID – Talk group ID.

These TGID’s are also known as ‘Channels’.

A TGID are a series of numbers that that are allocated to each agency for use.

For example:  10101 is the TGID for Fire & Rescue NSW and is known as Channel 101 ME1

By default – only the TGID comes up on the screen unless you allocate it a name.

Giving the TGID a name makes it easier to see at a glance, who is talking.

Over time – new TGID’s may be allocate or the agency may change the name of the TGID number.

This is why it is sometimes necessary to add in or modify a current TGID number.

Departments

A department is where the TGID’s are stored.

Each Department can be given a different name.

For example Fire Police Ambulance.

If a TGID belongs to Fire & Rescue, it makes sense to store it in the department called ‘Fire’.

The Department name must be allocated by the user.

By default when you create a new department it will pre-populate itself as  Department 1, Department 2 etc.

When creating a new Department – you can re-name that Department to reflect the user or agencies TGIDS you wish to store in it.

Edit Channel

This option is to add in a new TGID (remember a TGID is also known as a Channel) or modify a current TGID.

By default it will always have NEW Channel highlighted.

You can also modify an existing TGID by scrolling down the screen until you find the one you wish to modify.

Push E.Yes and follow the menu to either change the name of the current TGID or modify its Service Type.

Set Avoid

This option lets you AVOID or ‘lock out’ a TGID.

Should you come across a TGID that is ‘annoying’ you can go to this option and AVOID it.

You have two options. Temporary Avoid – which locks it out until you turn OFF the Scanner and then turn it back on again – which release the TGID back into the Scan.

Permanent Avoid , which as the name states, locks it out until such time you manually go back into this setting and select ‘Stop Avoiding’ from the options.
