Turning Favorites ON and OFF via Menu

Applies to PT HP, USDS100 and SDS100 models.

Loading Favorites.

When you first activate a pre-configured Micro SD Card, the Scanner will load all the Favorites that are installed on the SD card.

In the case of some of my pre-configured cards there is quite a lot of data and it can take some time for the Scanner to load all the files.

This may take around 30 seconds to a minute, due to the size of the data files and their content.

In some instances you may not wish to use all the Favorites that come installed on the SD card.

You can turn OFF the Favorites that are of no relevance to your location and improve the start-up time when turning the Scanner ON.

In the case of the NSW GRN data card, there are multiple Favorites covering different areas of NSW. If you are only using the Scanner in a localised area and have no need to load all the other Favorites, you can de-active some of the unwanted Favoirtes without deleting them from the card.

Turn the Scanner on and let it load all the default Favorites.

Once the Scanner has loaded all the Favorites, push the Menu button.

Set Scan Selection will be highlighted.

Push the E.Yes button.

Manage Quick Key Status will be highlighted.

Using the volume dial, scroll down and highlight Select Lists to Monitor.

Once you have highlighted Select Lists to Monitor, push the E.Yes button.

Full Database will be highlighted and directly to its right it will say OFF.

Underneath it will say Search with Scan, this should also be - OFF

Then there will be a list of all the installed Favorites that are available to monitor.

Using the Volume dial – scroll down and highlight the first Favorite list that is of no relevance to your location, or simply don’t want to use.

For example – if you lived in Sydney, there would be no need to have the ACT Favorite active to monitor as you’re simply too far away. Turning this ACT favorite OFF means that it won’t be loaded up every time you turn the Scanner ON again.

Once you have highlighted the Favorite that you’re not going to use – push the E.Yes button. This will change the setting from ON to OFF.

(Repeatedly pushing the E.Yes button will alternate between ON or OFF)

This means that the Favorite remains in the Scanners memory but at this point in time you’re not going to use it, so turning it off saves ‘boot up’ time when turning the Scanner ON.

Once you have made all your selections, push the System button to save the changes and put the Scanner back into Scan mode.

Now you can turn the Scanner off and turn it back on again to see if the changes you made are correct.

The Scanner should only load up the Favorites that you have left as ‘ON’ the list.

If you find that some un-wanted Favorites are still ON, repeat the process and make your adjustments.

The Favorites can be turned ON or OFF at any time and will not affect the data stored on the SD card
